We all love to post our images on social media, but this year, we are printing our portraits! And we will hang them on the walls!
I'm often asked what families should wear for their sessions and my first question is "what is the prominent color scheme in your home?" If you go with that, your portraits can double as fabulous wall decor!
I was putting up the last of our Christmas stuff this rainy weekend (don’t judge) and stumbled across some old wrapping paper with grids on the back! This paper is perfect for hanging frames for a gallery wall, which was also on my to do list for the day!
So here's what I did:
1. I measured the wall and cut out paper the same length as the wall.
2. I laid the paper flat on the floor.
3. Then, then I found the middle of the wall on the paper and started to lay out my frames. I used the grids to perfectly space out the frames just how I wanted them. Once they were perfect, I traced the frames on the paper.
4. I then measured the distance from the top of the frame to the hanger on the back and marked the spot on the paper for each frame.
5, Once that was done, I was ready to move my template to the wall. I hung the wrapping paper with painters tape and used a leveler to be sure it was hanging leveled.
6. I then used a pencil to make an indention where the hanger would go for each frame and placed my command hooks for each.
7. I placed my frames, and I was done in well under an hour!!! Easy peasy!!
Now it’s time to update our photos. I love candid shots for our gallery wall and my phone is filled with perfect snapshots of my little family. You don’t need professional photos to get photos on the wall, but if you’d like a session, let’s connect! I can’t wait to work with you!
If you use this method, share your wall with me! I’d love to see it!!
